This week is all about the animators of the inspiring documentary about rapper/producer/Ph.D. candidate Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo, also known as Sammus, which is currently crowdfunding on Indiegogo! With 12 minutes of hand-drawn animation, I just had to have these animators on the show.
Today's guest is Shammah McCoy, storyboard artist, animator, and associate producer!
Shammah discusses the animation process for the documentary, her longing to see herself represented in the media when she was growing up and how it fuels what she creates today, as well as how she learned to be kinder to herself because she is not an art-making machine!
